Our Mission Statement
The mission of Atlas Adaptive Sports is to challenge and actively exercise the discipline, the patience and the physical and mental perseverance of athletes with physical and/or intellectual disabilities through sports and other recreational activities, as well as to spread positive energy and a sense of care and camaraderie to every athlete, parent and volunteer”
Atlas Adaptive Sports is the product of many amazing people doing amazing things. Whether it’s a coach, an athlete, a parent or a volunteer, each and every person contributes to the tremendous positive energy of our program. Atlas is a nonprofit sports organization for Special Olympic and Paralympic athletes. We service child and adult athletes with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
Atlas Adaptive Sports was created both for people looking for a recreational activity and for people looking to train for competition and become champions! We pride ourselves not only on our highly qualified and knowledgeable staff, but also on the personal and genuine care and attention that all of our athletes receive. We can’t wait for you to be a part of our great program.
Kyle’s passion is people. Listening, sharing and connecting with people. With the help of Lindsay Grogan, Kyle founded Atlas Adaptive Sports with the vision of creating a program that would provide an encouraging and welcoming environment for all athletes, families and volunteers.
Kyle has amassed a wealth of coaching experience which includes summer league coaching, age-group USA team coaching, over 1,000 hours of learn-to-swim instruction, Special Olympic volunteer coaching, Masters coaching, high school assistant coaching and working with triathlon and open water competitors. Kyle’s most significant and valuable experience comes from being a lead coach at Nitro Swimming, one of the top swim teams in the entire nation. At Nitro, Kyle has the pleasure of working with and learning from some of the most caring, thoughtful and innovative people he’s ever met!
Kyle’s favorite things to do are reading, writing, listening to music, watching movies, and most importantly, spending time with friends and family. Besides swimming, Kyle also enjoys discovering and playing more obscure sports such as spikeball, pickleball, acroyoga and others. Feel free to stop and chat or just simply say hello if you see Kyle. He’s very excited to meet and get to know you!
